HI,
I just loaded up a bunch of things to take to our local consignor. My mom had some old Barbie things at her house that dd used to play w/ & threw those into the lot. She told dd she could have them to keep or sell. DD8 was very excited at the prospect of making some $ for a new AG doll. I then explained to her that I could take the items (which she helped me clean, sort & bag) to the consign. shop or to one of the local second hand kid's stores that buy straight out. She was really excited & wanted to know which way was best. I told her that the consign. usually ends up giving you more $, but the second hand store is cash right away. She thought it over & announced that it "didn't matter if it took longer, as long as she could get more $". She wanted it consigned.
I am proud of her for not trying to take the "fastest" way & being very patient in saving her money. She started receiving an allowance in January & has not spent any of it. It has all been put away for her next doll. She is only $17 away (she had some Bday $ stashed away too) & it will take her 4-6 weeks to most likely reach that goal. I think this is going to be one very much appreciated doll.

HI,
Well, first she wanted a Ruthie for Kit, then decided on Felicity, then switched to Molly. This week she is back to wanting to get Felicity first & ask for Molly for Christmas. I think she will know for sure when we hit the confirmation button when it's ordered. lol. She has never saved her own $ to buy anything. She is really learnig how long it takes to save & how expensive things can be.

just wanted to say congrats to your daughter for saving her own money for her doll.
Since I don't want to hijack your thread, I'm going to post separately about a question I have regarding allowances,
Laurie
